A Mother's Love

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I wanted to write something for the moms. This piece comes from the inspiration from my own experience as a mother.

When you’re happy, I feel like I could float through the clouds with joy

When you’re sad, it’s as if I could drown in your tears

And when you’re in pain, I suffer worse than a thousand deaths

You see, my child, your light is my light, your darkness is my darkness

Whatever you go through, I go through it with you tenfold

Because you are my child, my love, my life, my reason for existing

You have taught me more than the smartest person ever could

You have brought me more happiness than I could have ever imagined

You have filled my heart so much it could burst

There are times you’re going to feel sad, and scared, and alone

I’ll be your shoulder to cry on when you’re in despair

I’ll be your glue when life seems to fall through the cracks

And I’ll be your shield when hard things are thrown your way

No matter what, I’ll be there whenever or however you need me

Because you are my child

And as long as I’m walking this earth, you will never be alone.
