A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

The idea for NOEL Forgotten came to me in 2015. At the time, I didn't think it would be possible to get the idea on paper. I tried anyway and failed miserably. I wrote a few (poorly written) chapters on my faulty laptop, which ended up breaking shortly after. Needless to say, I lost everything. It was upsetting, but the few chapters I had written were all the ideas I had. I didn't know where the story was going to go, so I let the idea slip away. However, it didn't leave my mind. For six years, I thought about that story. I wondered what it could be if I could figure out the rest of the plot. I wondered who my characters would be and what challenges they would overcome. The idea consumed me, and I knew I had to finish what I started.

In June 2021, I sat down at my laptop (fully functional) and re-wrote what I could remember. From there, I started to outline the story but didn't know how it was going to end. That's when I started drafting and got into the heads of my characters. I immersed myself into this world I created and the ending hit me as if it were there all along. Once I knew how the book was going to end, the rest fell into place. Four months later, I had a complete first draft but the journey didn't end there. I spent countless hours editing and revising to make this book into something I couldn't have imagined. I fell in love with the story and the characters, and I hope you love reading it as much as I loved writing it.
